بولسونارو ماه گذشته قرارداد بین وزارت بهداشت و ایالت سائوپائولو برای تولید 46 میلیون دوز از این واکسن را لغو کرده بود.
دوریا که قصد دارد در انتخابات ریاست جمهوری سال 2022 برزیل شرکت کند، این اقدام بولسونارو را مجرمانه خوانده بود.
رئیس‌جمهور برزیل که از او به کنایه، ترامپ استوایی یاد می‌شود، در مخالفت با آزمایش بالینی واکسن چینی عنوان کرده که مردم برزیل نباید موش آزمایشگاهی این واکسن‌ها شوند.
